LOS SUPERMACHOS DE SAN GARABATO. TOMO IV.
Rio, Eduardo del (pseud. Rius).
Mexico, D.F.: Meridiano, 1966. 1st ed. unpag., color illus., boards, evenly toned, otherwise in very good condition Very Good Hardcover Fourth volume of collected Supermachos comics, gathering numbers 37-48. The introductory note descrbies the growing popularity of Los Supermachos and of Rius's work as a whole not only on a domestic level but internationally as well. Los Supermachos was a breakthrough when it debuted with the Meridiano imprint, the first to pick up a standalone series by the fledgling Rius. As reported by Rubenstein in "Bad Language, Naked Ladies and Other Threats to the Nation," Rius figures that about 200,000 copies were sold weekly (1998). This volume represents the first attempts at anthologizing Rius's output. A rare item. OCLC lists four holdings of the Meridiano volumes, but only two of those list volume four in their catalogs (Item ID: 168175)
