Includes several engravings and photographs. Sketches of New York, Venice and the Chicago World's Fair adorn several front pages, as well as illustrations of battles and steam ships. The contents feature a variety of domestic and international areas of interest, with Japanese and Chinese culture and architecture making regular appearances. The last leaf always features an advertisement for services and labor-reducing machines, such as sugar cane threshers. Very rare, worldcat only lists one copy for three volumes in Microfilm.
