Rare book, only three copies on worldcat. In fine condition. The author's name has been inked in old hand on the title page: "Peyron-Baix" to both volumes. Attractive cloth and leather binding. Slight wear to lower spine of volume one, pinholes to spine of volume two. Very slight chip and wear to first two pages of volume one due to careless thumbing. The author was born in Aix in 1740 and studied fine arts. He was commisioner of the colonies, he displays great knowledge in antiquity and the fine arts in this book. He subsequently wrote another book work on Spain that was published in 1782 and is much more common.
