The speech of Dr. León Rey, who studies 14 couplets, 351 words and 163 expressions and idioms, in addition to the introduction of rigor, where the new academic praises the work and merits of his predecessor at the Academy, Don Manuel Antonio Bonilla, consists of five parts:
1) Description of the landscape and customs of the East of Cundinamarca 2) Forces that tend to diversification and forces that tend to unify the language 3) Impossibility of a social classification of the language in only two categories, the cultured and the popular; 4) "Samples of rough language" expressions, idioms, metaphorical language and words. 5) Language in popular poetry and some terms from Quichua, Muisca and Chibeha.
