As a military man he fought against the liberal government, he was the head of the pacifying campaign on the Atlantic coast in 1885. During the government of General Rafael Reyes he served as the national director of statistics from where he made important publications. He was a representative to the camera, customs inspector and fiscal auditor of the Pacific railroad. He died in Flanders in 1922.
