"In this work, the Techialoyan Codex of Santa María Tepexoyucan and San Jerónimo Acazulco is facsimilarly reproduced and studied, a manuscript in Nahuatl that contains numerous paintings and comes from the towns of the same name, currently located in the municipality of Ocoyoacac, State of Mexico. Although the elaboration of pictorial manuscripts of the pre-Hispanic native tradition, known as codices, lasted in the 16th century, after the Spanish conquest, this document dates from the middle of the colonial period and is a clear indication of the emergence of new forms of registration. The study of this codex of the Techialoyan corpus is presented in two parts, the first deals with the geographic environment of Tepexoyuca and Acazulco, as well as the pre-Hispanic and colonial history of the region where both towns are located. Part of it is the study of the codex in aspects such as its itinerary, from its place of origin to its r current repository in Switzerland; the macroscopic qualities of the manuscript; the characteristics of his glosses and paintings and the historical-documentary analysis of their content. The analysis of the codex was supported by tools such as palaeography, linguistics and philology, as well as archival, ethnohistoric, ethnographic and cartographic sources.
