Between 1975 and 1976 at the Institute of Economic and Social Research and Superior Studies of the UV, as part of an investigation into the socioeconomic development of Veracruz in the 19th century, the performance of primary education from 1810 to 1910 was studied. The results were published in the journal Dualismo, under the titles "Primary education in Veracruz: 1810-1845", "Overview of primary education in Veracruz from the second Federal Republic to the Restored Republic (1846-1877)" and "La primary education in Veracruz during the Porfiriato”.
