The events of recent months have made us experience, as never before, fear and anxiety regarding the fate of humanity and, particularly, of each of our societies in the world. The magnitude of its impacts affects all orders of society, the economy, politics and culture. From the social sciences and humanities, we consider it imperative to carry out a confrontation exercise between our theories with reality, since one of the commitments of the social sciences is to explain the roots and elements that build the social order, but also the roots and elements behind crisis situations such as the one we are experiencing with the global pandemic that began in 2020.
